How do I get my contacts to show when they are on-line?

My ym is up and running but all my contacts show like they are invisible. When my contacts IM me it tells me in the box that so and so appears to be off line so may not get message. How can we converse if they are off-line?

Answer:
They are online but they signed in as 'invisible'. As such they can still converse with you. If they are really offline, they will not be able to reply, but your message will be sent just the same. Your contact will receive your message as 'Offline Message'. It will pop up on his screen when he signs in on his Yahoo Messenger.

just like you do if you were online. you dont have to be online to send or receive messages from yahoo. unlike AIM you do indeed get the messages that someone leaves you on yahoo. if the other person is there, they can answer you, you don't have to be on line. i never turn on my smiley thing and i have no problems talking to people!!

its not ur YM problem dude. they chat with u but msgr says they r offline bcoz they r INVISIBLE. their status has been set to invivsible dats why they appear to be offline.
