What are proxy server settings?

  • While trying to download yahoo messenger I get an error message saying that my proxy server settings may not be valid & it will not let me continue with the download.

  • Answer:

    In internet explorer, go to tools, Internet options, connections, lan settings, and uncheck the "use a proxy server for your lan" check box. Unless of course you really are using a proxy server, in which case you should already know the settings for it.
