How do I stop my Yahoo group posts from going into my personal email?

Why are the email delivery of posts to my Yahoo Group delayed?

  • I am a a member of a moderately active Group consisting of ~120 members having an average of 100 messages or less per month. Over the last several months many member have complained about mutli-day delays in delivering posts to the list via email. I have personally witnessed the same delays (as recent as today) and would add that there have been times when messages go missing (never delivered at all). Many of the members are asking to leave the service and start a group elsewhere for our collaborative efforts. What can I do to restore resonable service (email delivery)_and keep the group intact on Yahoo?! --DC

A good site to check is Moderator Central: http://moderators.groups.yahoo.com/ The following came up in my query "message delays" - Extended Delay in Message Delivery with discussions dated: 25-Jul-07 08:32 pm http://messages.groups.yahoo.com/Groups/Moderators/threadview?bn=grp-issues&tid=14950&mid=15193 Also there was a Yahoo! Groups Scheduled Maintenance - Thursday, July 19th. From: [email protected] ___________________________________ * * Update: Email from DougC: Message: Jayne, Thanks for your reply to my inquiry. It was helpful in finding other people experiencing the same delays. Unfortunately it doesn't get me any closer to a solution. Am I banging my head against the wall? Or have these delays just become a fact of life in the YahooGroups world that everybody else knows already? Thanks, --Doug ____________________________ Response to DougC email: I have seen delays in the past with Yahoo! Groups. But, unless the message is held up in the SPAM Pending folder and require an Owner/Moderator approval - the delay is not really something that is a problem. My groups pass Job Leads. We do not use the group to "chat," therefore, any delay is not an issue. Althought, I occasionally monitor my messages sent to the group and is how I have seen the delays in the past. I know I am not helping you. Sorry! I have known groups that have changed to Google groups - I do not like Google groups. Don't like the look (limited to personalize the group page). I don't like the digest (not as easy to use as Yahoo!). I would never change over - I like my group the way it is. That's my $.02!

If the posts are moderated and need approval from a moderator or owner, you should make sure that those people are acting quick enough for you.
