Have you ever sold anything on Kijiji? Does it work? Is it worth it to pay for an ad?

    kijiji did not work for me,it was a total waste of time.Besides,given how many people were scammed,it's hard to trust both sellers or buyers.Craiglist is a bit better but not great anymore,they're snobs,they ghost your ads and you receive tons of spam that's hard to discern serious queries among them.But i think these sites are normaly more frequented by sellers(including scammers and spammers) than buyers.I'll show you a good way to advertise with less headache,i figued it out just out of my personal experience.Here's what i noticed: -When my mother-in-law wakes up,she heads straight to Facebook. -When my wife wakes up,she heads straight to Facebook -When you check your status on facebook,you find all friends are or updating or have just updated their statuses. This is the site where people go spend time early in the morning,right after work,right after supper,at 9pm,at 10pm,at midnight. This is where everybody hangs out. Many of these people never visit any other site EVER.i live in Toronto and none of my family or friends visit or care about sites like kijij or craglist.So you create a fan page and facebook gives you the opportunity to make it an ad,it's cheaper and you will get real visitors if your ad is targeted and consize(just state what you offer).Google Adwords as others have mentioned also work,too but expensive and there is the risk of click fraud,so yeah facebook is the only site with traffic that convert. Of course,you can always use classifieds sites as an extra source of traffic and there are some that post your ads on facebook for you(not just a share button).Google for those. Good luck

Kijiji advertises itself on Google,Yahoo and Msn,so why don't you go to the source as well? If you're serious about online advertising,then Google Adwords is your best bet.

Why. Use one that is better and free. It is cl, it works so much better and it is free.

PPC (Pay per click) is the only "reliable" source of website traffic. Yahoo and Msn are cheaper than Google. You should also try PPV,social bookmaring sites . Classifieds traffic does not convert well unless may be if you post in multiple sites and are consistent about it. Some classifieds sites are less popular but dont underestimate them, you never know where your prospect is surfing. Some of these classifieds sites will post and share your ads on facebook(and other social media sites) upon posting it. That way, you kill two birds with one stone - you post an ad and get it shared on fb. One such sites is: http://www.nortad.com/

Yes it does work, I've sold many textbooks as well as clothing on there. I have never paid for an ad, it may be worth it depending on what you're selling, however, I find that once my ad goes off the first page if it stops getting hits then I just take it down, and then re-post it so it is on the first page again.
