Is it normal for my amp to get a little hot?

I don't know about this, my amp seems to get a little hot to the touch? NEED HELP?

  • I have a Prymaid 1600 watt 2 channel amp. I have my level knob turned just a little tiny bit pass half way and my low pass knob is a little less then a quarter turn on. I have my bass eq. set to 12. Can anyone tell me what is wrong or what I'm doing wrong or if it is my amp and if that is suppose to do that? The amp sometimes get hot to the touch and other times it gets warm. Thanks for any advice.

  • Answer:

amps are supposed to get warm, it just means they're working. just make sure you're giving it adequate ventilation. also like everyone else said, its not a great amp, you might be better getting a better amp if you can afford one

That's a very low end amp, it gonna get hot. Get a higher end amp and the problem will go away.
