Why won't the display on my Pioneer DEH-P9800BT cd player dim when I turn on the lights?
-
The stock head unit dimmed when I turned on the lights, and according to the manual for the Pioneer, it is supposed to dim as well. So far as I can see, the only wire that is not hooked up in the harness is for a wired remote.
-
Answer:
There should be a wire on the cd player labelled "Illumination" or something similar. Make sure that is hooked up correctly (refer to www.the12volt.com for wiring diagrams). If this doesn't work or the wiring is correct, consult the manual and look for a setting that allows you to change the illumination, as it may need to be set properly in order to work.
