What do these Amp settings Mean?

How to tune my amp for 10'' subwoofers?

  • i have a 3600 watt mono block amp. it has gain, bass boost, subsonic filter, lowpass filter, and phase shift. i was to tune my amp for my 10 inch 1050w 250rms 4 ohm subs. im not sure what to turn all of the settings too in order to get the best quality. i have the subs wired in parallel, does this mean the impedance is 4 ohms. i know ohms law and when there in, parallel it would be 2 ohm i think, and series you add the ohms, making it 8 ohm. would that decrease the wattage to the subs? and what should i put the settings to

  • Answer:

I am guessing Soundstorm SSL amp and Infinity or JBL subs? Talk about a little overkill. Wire to 2 ohm. For the best sound, 1) turn the low pass filter all the way to 50hz, bass boost to 0, subsonic filter to 15hz, phase shift to 0. 2) turnthe gain all the way down 3) turn you radio up half way 4) slowly turn only the gain up until it just starts to distort. turn it down a little bit you are all set
