Hook up two car amps?

  • I have a 1000(peak) watt amp and a 2800(peak) watt amp i want to connect both. Can I take the wire coming from my battery and use a distribution block to split the 4 guage into two 8 gauge wires, or do I need bigger ones? Also do I need to use two fuses or just the one by my battery. And do I need two batteries to power both amps and how would I add a second? I have the 2800 hooked up now and want to add the 1000.
