Would this be a good amp for my Subs?

Subs from radio, and no amp, good?bad?

  • just got a set of 12 inch pioneer subs 700 watt a piece last night, they are in the box and all, but i dont have an amp yet, i have a 1200w lined up and i cant get it for another month or so, so i unhooked my back speakers and hook them up to the subs, it was loud and sounded pretty good, i am still getting the amp, but what i am woundering is, is what will happen to my subs, there is 50watts runing to each one, is it bad to run them like that for a while? will i wreck them? or should i just wait until i get my amp to hooke them up? please answer soon, I WANT WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO MY SUBS!

    bad idea it will blow best case scenario if you have to have that BASS then run a inline fuse between your subs and the rear speaker outputs

man unhook those things at once. your gonna be pissed when your stuff is all messed up. just wait a month for your amp. you could do some serious harm to your stuff. not a good idea

ok. first of all, you cannot underpower a sub and blow it, i had a couple of subs hooked up to my car directly w/o an amp. it didn't damage my car, but it is a bad idea. If you have a nice system, you can easily blow it. I had a crappy sub and wanted to test it. it never blew. You should get an amp. good luck

I'm no gana be like one of these guys and bust you but that's not really a good idea at all, it could easily blow your subs bye under powering them just to let you know... so yea unhook them and just wait unless you wanna buy new subs.. Best of luck,Ryan
