My 2005 Toyota CD player slides into my 1996 Camry CD dash slot, but stops short!?
-
My new CD player is from another car--a 2005 Camry. I'd like very much to install it into my 1996 Camry, but the new one is bigger than the old one, which was installed with a dash kit. Since I don't need the dash kit for this bigger one, when I slide it into the dash it stops short, because the new radio has a lip! This new one is HUGE, and slides in all the way, except for the very front (at the faceplate), which won't go in. What am I doing wrong?

Answer:
U need to take the housing off the stock radio and iso load it with the screws on the side just like the old one.No kits are used in older toyotas only stock brackets.
