Opening a New Electronic Store?

New store opening-promotional ideas?

• We are opening a new location of our carpet store and want ideas for opening day/week. We already have a radio station coming, and we have some giveaways. We don't want it to be tacky, as we have a fairly affluent customer base. It has to be an all-day or even all-week event so a dinner is out. We are having a "private event" earlier in the week directed towards designers. This event needs to be directed towards customers. One idea that I have is an "ugly carpet" contest. Has anyone else got any ideas?

  ask customers to bring in their favorite snapshots digital or other, for all those that are purchasing carpet their names will go into a drawing to have that pic blown up and framed to match the carpet that they have chosen for the "new room"...keep the other photos to have a sort of art show you could have another day where customers vote for their favorite and do the same for the winner...so many people are now into digital photography now they just don't go far enough with their beautiful creations..good luck and yeah I really like that ugly carpet contest...my parents would have won that one hands down lol they had the ugliest carpet I had ever seen ...again GOOD LUCK !!!!
