I deleted many contacts that were in the form of email addresses. Why do they come back when I sync to Iphone?

I had many contacts in Yahoo address book that were in the form of email addresses. I deleted all of them and synced to Itunes and my Iphone, and these all came back. They don't show in my yahoo contacts but they are still hidden somewhere. How do I get rid of them for good?

Answer:
i dont know how this works for an iphone because i have an android phone, but for androids this is what you do, because it might work for an iphone also. go to your accounts that you have on your phone, and go to your yahoo account and uncheck where it says sync contacts from that account, it should work after that. if not, then i'm not sure what to do. Good Luck.
