Can you add friends on yahoo?

Why i can't add my friends' e-mail address at yahoo messenger?please help me!?

• when i'm trying to add my friends' address at yahoo instant messenger it says;we encountered an error adding [email protected] to your messenger list.Please try again. this happens all the time.what's wrong?please help.

  You will need to have your friend's Email address in your Yahoo Mail address book first. Click the Contacts tab to open your address book. You will see a form at the top to fill out for each contact you add. When finished, click the Add button. Import Contacts Into Messenger: 1. With Messenger open, click on "Contacts." 2. From the drop down menu, click on "Import Contacts." 3. When the "Import Contacts window opens, click "Next." 4. When the next window opens, check the names you want to import into Messenger. 5. Click "Next" and follow the prompts. NOTE: The selected contacts will receive an email from Yahoo inviting them to join you on Messenger. You will be added to each others Messenger's lists when they accept the invitation.
