Answer:
If you don't already have the Microsoft Office suite installed on your computer then you will need to buy it in order to view the attachment. There are two free alternatives: 1) Send the email to your Google account (assuming you have one) and view the documents in Google docs 2) Install OpenOffice which is free open source software and is compatible with Microsoft office documents. Simply type in "open office" in any search engine and you'll find the software.
