Why will my attachments not open in e-mails that are sent to me?

I've sent several emails recently with attachments, & the attachments have not been received. Why???

• The emails have been sent to many different carriers, and I've cc'ed my Yahoo! account on these emails as a precaution. The paper clip shows up in my Yahoo! Inbox and in the email, but there is no attachment. This is a new problem.
