Can not open pictures in an email.

How can I make pictures smaller to send in a email? As they're to big for some to open? Thanks.?

  • I want to know what is an easy way to make pictures smaller size in a email? What program is the best to edit pictures with? How easy is it to format pictures to the size you want?

  • Answer:

There is a free photo storage site (Village Photo) that allows you to size your pictures to any size you want. It also provides a URL for your pics and is easier to send and post than attachments, IMHO, The people on the receiving end should be able to open any of them because it's a link and not an attachment.

You didn't tell us what operating system you are using. If it is windows XP, there is a cool little program from microsoft that integrates into Windows shell and lets you resize a series of pictures with just one or two clicks. It is a part of the XP power toys, http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx and the direct link to download it is the following. http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/Install/2/WXP/EN-US/ImageResizerPowertoySetup.exe Alternately you could use any image editing software. I can recommend gimp ( http://www.gimp.org/ ) which unlike photoshop, is completely free and runs in any operating system. good luck!

You can edit pictures with any image editing softwares such as Adobe Photoshop. As far the sizing goes, it depends on the format of the picture you save it as, .jpeg, .gif, .tif, .bmp etc are all image formats. For email, try using .gif or .tif, or even .jpeg but definately avoid .bmp (requires the most discspace) good luck :)

If the photos came to you in an email & you want to forward them, it is very easy, click the arrow on the 'forward' button for a drop down list, select 'in line text' you have now enabled the email for editing. Wait for the photos to appear, click on each photo to see the little white boxes around it. At the corner of the photo, mouse over a white box till you see an arrow, then just drag it to the prefered size. Go on to the next, don't like a particular photo, then click on it for the white boxes & hit delete on your keyboard. You can delete text also by hi-light & delete. <><

I don't know about editing and formatting but... As long as you are using Yahoo! Photomail, it allows only 4 photos as part of the body of the email. That way, they should be a just right size for viewing on the receiving end. You don't want to send an entire roll (I still use a film camera) - I found out the hard way
