How to get rid of spam in my laptop?

  • I don't "get" why people spam mail and spam post??? Surely its not an effective marketing strategy? I don't need to want a penis extension... and even if i did i wouldn't get on from some spam email! And why do people keep spam troll posting on yahoo Q&A about buying a sodding DELL laptop? I can't imagine for one millisecond that ANYONE has actually used the site being promoted? So what is the point? To irritate everyone?

    The reality is people DO fall for it. A few people have already posted that they sent money to that spamming site for the Dell laptop and didn't receive anything - so there are suckers out there And all it takes is for 1 person out of 100,000 mails to make a purchase to make that spam profitable. It costs nothing to spam. And people do fall for it

I agree. I also am glad that all the sh-- don't come in my regular mail box. I wish there were a way to delete them automatically. The point is it free. Yes it just takes your computer long to up load. It also is a way for some to deliver a virus. My advise is don't open any of them.

Well spam may seem irritating to most, but the point is to draw that 1 particular user who falls for the spam (not very IT-savvy i can expect) and gain business off him/her. It may even be for gaining traffic for the site especially when people accidentally click cleverly crafted spam which bypasses the filter. In short, they are aiming for the minority who click them.
