How can i delete an email address on yahoo.com?

If i delete an email address what happens to anny accounts connected to it?

  • i made my email address when i was much younger, it is cringey,,, :P i have now decided to make a new one that is more sensible.. but how do i go about any accounts i have made using that email address i know i can change them but what happens to account i have made and havent changed email address used for it? how would i get onto the account? would itjust delete account connected to the email? also is it possible to send over my emails from my old email address? sorry if words are without spaces or letters, my keypad is dying hope you can understand it! thanks in advance! (: please note: it isnt a yahoo email address, it is hotmail, hope its similar enough to help!

You can send your old emails to your new email address before you delete it yes ... but it would be a manual process. If you have registered on websites using your old email address and you then delete that email address without updating your email address in your account details on the website, there is a very good chance that the website owner will delete your membership once the emails they send to your old email address start bouncing back. Hotmail in particular are very strict and are quick to ban delivery of emails from websites, particularly if the website is repeatedly sending emails to non-existent hotmail email addresses. So it's in a website owner's best interest to keep their database up to date and to delete memberships with non-current email addresses.
