How do I open a Microsoft outlook email account?

My bellsouth email is going to microsoft office outlook. How do I stop this so it stays in my email account?

Outlook is a Pop3 client. That means it always requests the server to download the emails. The only way to stop it is to go into tools/accounts and remove the bellsouth email. Then to access your email you have to visit the bellsouth email website. It is possible that utilities such as Lotus notes have the facility to access email without loading it into your machine but I don't use them. I use Outlook when I want to download emails. I access the host website directly if I don't want to take a local copy. (As, for example, my Yahoo mail.).
