When is the POP Mail Internal Server Error going to be repaired?
-
For three weeks, using two different POP email clients (Mozilla Thunderbird and Evolution) on two different operating systems (Windows 7 and Ubuntu Linux), I get occasional "-ERR internal server error (6532)" errors asking for my password again. If I type the password in again, it is usually accepted, but not always. On the Windows system, it's not so bad - I can just cancel and the next time it tries it on it's own it will usually go through. On Linux, however, when the server responds that there is a password error, the software assumes that this is because the password is incorrect and forgets it. That necessitates me having to reenter my password every time it tries. A total pain in the... I get this dozens of times a day and it only occurs on the email accounts that I have with bellsouth.net (which is hosted by Yahoo servers). The accounts that I have with 1and1.com are not affected. I have double checked and triple checked the POP and SMTP settings and verified them to be correct. This, coupled with the fact that the issue presents itself on multiple computers running different operating systems and client software, tells me that the issue is with the Yahoo servers and not my own system. Armed with this information, I contacted Bellsouth (AT&T), since there is absolutely NO contact information that I can find for Yahoo, and argued with the technician there about whose problem this was for over 45 minutes until he finally contacted Yahoo himself and discovered that, low and behold, I WAS RIGHT. Yahoo claimed to be having problems with their servers but they did not have an ETA on a repair time. After a week of experiencing this problem I tried contacting AT&T again with exact same course of events playing out. What I want to know is this - WHEN IS THIS PROBLEM GOING TO BE RECTIFIED!?
