Why does it say The following message could not be delivered to all recipients:?

I sent a msg to a contact on Windows live Messenger. How do i fix it so that that person only gets it. What needs to be done. And did they get my Msg. Hope it wasnt that confusion to get a straight answer.

this has happened to me before it pretty much means your message couldnt be delivered probably because there was problems with the connection i normally cant do nuthing about it except wait & try again later my friends arent mad that i didnt reply back because they know the only reason i would reply is because something like that happened. & i mite call/text them to explain.

you must have an old version - I used to get that message in msn when the person had logged out before I had chance to send it. After updating to Windows Live Messenger I now get the message will be delivered when they log in next
