How do I stop yahoo from trying to force me to upgrade email?
-
This is absolutely rediculous, every time I try to check my email it takes me to some stupid page where the only option you have to get off of it, is to leave page entirely, or click "Upgrade". I have to contantly refresh and restart the yahoo homepage over and over clicking on my email until it finaly decides to let me. I've been using yahoo for many, many years now and this is the dumbest thing I have ever seen. I do not like the new email set up at all, once you've been using somthing for a good 7 to 8 years fine, why is it so terrible that you'd not want it to change entirely? I just want to disable this stupid forced upgrade crap; if they are going to force it, stop tiptoeing around it and say it. And as soon as it is forced, or if i am unable to stop it from sticking me on this stupid upgrade screen, I'm switching to Gmail.

Answer:
Do this to "STAY with" (or get BACK to) Classic (which is the ONLY older version you can stay with or get back to). This link (below) has been reported to be a permanent fix---AND even STOPS future "prompts to upgrade" It's different than some of the other links, (that have been given), which are only temporary Click this link: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/ymail/context/migrationv2.html When the page opens---scroll down about midway until you see this---"What if I don’t want to upgrade to the newest version of Yahoo! Mail"?----IF you do not want to upgrade, please "click here" to use Yahoo! Mail Classic. ("click here" is a blue link). Return to Classic is immediate and permanent.
