Best Theme Park on the Gold Coast?

Hotel in gold coast, near theme park or beach?

  • hi guys, i'm planning to go on Vacation to Gold Coast, AU in septermber with my friends. this is my first trip to Gold Coast and i really wanna enjoy all the craziness, the funnest things in Gold Coast. From theme parks, beaches, popular cafes or shopping experience. So, can anybody suggest me of where should i stay? is there any hotel near all those fun places? thanks before ^^

    I agree fully for staying in Surfers Paradise as there is lots of activites. You can buy the superpass which provide coach transfer to all theme parks and airport-hotel (except Outback Paradise)...you can also use any of the public bus service free of charge. Stay in hotels along Orchid avenue will be convenient to the mall and the beachfront evening market every Wed & Fri. I will be going there this June 2008...2nd trip after 5 years...done quite abit of research as I am going there with wife and 3 kids...

There is no hotel close to the theme parks except for Sea World resort, however there is regular bus service from Surfers Paradise to the theme parks and the bus drivers are all very helpful if your not sure where you are going. I also suggest staying in surfers paradise, you will be close to the beach, shopping, restaurants and nightlife. Look for hotels near Cavill Ave.

Sea World Resort is close to Sea World and even has a monorail direct to the resort. Seaworld is the only theme park actually on the Gold Coast. Dreamworld, Movie World and Wet and Wild are all a bit inland on the main road to Brisbane and are not on the coast (though they're not far). You would be better off staying in Surfers Paradise or adjoining places so that you are close to most of the cafes, nightclubs, bars and shopping. Buses will go from Surfers to the theme parks.

My favourite place.! Have fun.! We stay at the Illuka Resort, (google it) its on the beach front, next to the main shopping, entertainment area Cavill Avenue. Brilliant appartment, balcony overlooks Surfers beach , close to everywhere. You lucky thing!!
