What are some good soulful piano chords?

I play piano and do improv o it and im looking for some good chords to string with melodies

I taught myself how to play chords on the piano yesterday and found a site called megachords.com that gives me chords to a bunch of songs. But just playing the chords doesn't sound right, how do I find the actual melody?
