How do I sweep pick on guitar?

I know sweep picking is fluid motion & not really picking, hence the name "Sweep" picking, but... I tend to pick the strings instead of sweep through them! No matter what I practice, I still pick instead of sweep. Is this just the beginning...

Does any one no where I can learn to sweep pick on the guitar because I think it's a important skill to learn but I'm no good at it and would really like to get better at it
