Can I discover where or who sent me an offensive email?

I'm being accused of sending threatening emails and they say it has come from my college from the IP address. Can they know this or has it been made up cause their trying pin it on me.

I know it is a fake email but how can i tell who sent it i place the header in a tracker and it did said the email was originated from 74.82.64.32 but i cant find out who this is can someone please help me discover who this sender really is
