Are 100% polyester jackets waterproof?

Labels both say dry clean only, but I don't know why. Other polyester is washable, and Spandex is totally washable. I don't want to pay for dry cleaning (plus the hassle of getting it there and picking it up) if I can just toss them in my nice washer...

Does it remain 100% waterproof? If not what product washes and reproofs polyester?
