Things to do in Southampton and London?

Things to do in London...?

  • Hey everybody, going to London in a few months and looking for some good places to visit while I'm there. However, I go to London a lot so I've already been to all the big touristy places like the Big Ben, the British Museum, the Tower of London, Buckingham Palace, London Aquarium, Madame Tussaud's, the London Eye, Ripley's Believe It Or Not Museum, London Dungeon and Abbey Road so I'm kind of out of ideas now! lol My interests include music (any type of music at all) and movies so I was wondering if there's any good music museums or movie museums in London? I also love art so does anybody know if there's any really good art museums in London? (Apart from the National Gallery, I've been there! lol) Also, I really enjoyed my visit to Ripley's so does anyone if there's any other museums in London like that one? (You know, kind of unconventional ones!) Thanks for any answers in advance!

  • Answer:

I enjoyed the Tate Modern. It has a nice collection of modern and contemporary art. If you feel like taking a short trip, I recommend taking a cruise on the Thames out to Greenwich and checking out the Royal observatory and prime meridian. There are a few companies that provide this service. The prime meridian is of course a completely arbitrary imaginary line but it makes for a nice day trip.

i could go to Cambridge or Melrose maybe, it costs more than 40 cents to go to London. What did Rupert do anyway? Is he really ashamed, as he says?

Try and see what is available on the Official London theatre site. Their half price ticket booth is open every day in the middle of Leicester Square. www.officiallondontheatre.co.uk Also use the www.timeout.com/london site to see what else is one in terms of free concerts, events, museums etc. Go and see the British Films Institute (BFI) on South Bank http://www.bfi.org.uk- films & events galore! As for art- the Summer Exhibition is one of the biggest annual art events n London. This is held in the Royal Academy every year. Or get to the Tate Modern, by the Millenium bridge, or the Tate Brit an in Millbank. http://www.royalacademy.org.uk/exhibitions/ http://www.tate.org.uk/
