Are hostels in London safe?

How safe are is Southwark, London? What about Camden? Has anyone visited St. Christopher's hostels there?

  • My fiance and I are going to London on our honeymoon but we can't exactly afford the Ritz. I was looking at St. Christopher's Inn hostel in Southwark or the Camden London hostel. I just want to make sure I'm in a reasonably safe neighborhood (nothing fancy, just OK). What can you tell me about these areas?

    Southwark is OK. You can have the Bishop of London as a neighbour! and it's very central Camden is multi-ethnic and further from the centre, might be a little cheaper. Both are fairly safe. If you can get a decent hotel deal then go for Southwark. Ian M

The hotel u mentioned sounds GOOD ONE.... and secondly i would say SOUTHWARK London as this is one of the main part of London and kind of safe too than Camden... In camden u wud find muti cultural different people, and end of the day u may not end up final opinion how the place was...to get to see london in its full boom stay at southwark safe and good place
