It's a broad question; too many variables,eg where are you travelling from,how are you travelling,where (in london)are you staying,north,south,eastend, city, west london (trust me it's relevent)hotels,b&b,police cells but as a rough guide i'd take minimum £500

I stay in "The Regent Palace" hotel in Piccadilly Circus its cheap and cheerful and in the heart of everything. Tube station outside the door. Cant answer the second part of your question, sorry!
