Where is the cheapest place to live?

Moving to london, Where would I find the cheapest place, To live at?

  • I'm 18 years old, I currently live in West Union Ohio in the U.S, I was wondering what steps would I have to take in order to become a legal citizen in London? Also my other question was, What would be the cheapest yet nicest place to live? My friend in Liverpool says Liverpool is the, Cheapest place to live at. I was wondering if I could maybe exchange American dollars for Quids and pences? I'm really nervous about moving to London but I'm going to go through with it, I promised myself I would do this, But I'm afraid I'm going to get there and I have to live out on the streets for awhile. What steps should I go through with when I first arrive in London? One last question haha, How would I get from Cincinatti Ohio, to Liverpool? I can't find any flights that go from Cinci straight to Liverpool... Thanks for listening!

  • Answer:

Public toilets - a night there night cost a mere 20 pence (you can lock yourself up for whole 8 hours or even longer).

I think you should reconsider, before you do it. You obviously need to educate yourself about all aspects of it. London is very expensive. Liverpool is not near London! What about a work visa? You should research on the internet. There is much info there.

You can get an internal flight from the London airports to the Liverpool John Lennon Airport without any problems. Living in London is very expensive. You need a lot of money to live in Central London. Living in the outskirts of London is cheaper, but then you have to pay a lot to get into central London by public transport. You're coming here as an immigrant? Do you think we just let you off the plane and into the UK just like that? Sorry, but it doesn't work like that. Get yourself a work visa, and find a cheap place to live. Once that has been sorted out, you can start looking for more permanent places to live. You need to be working in this country for at least 2 years before you can apply for residency (I think you might have to have been living in the UK for 4 years as well). I'd check your facts thoroughly before making the journey.

First, Detla flies from Cinci to London Gatewick. From the airport, you'll take a bus or train to down town. From there you can take road transportation for liverpool - check google on how to. As for where to live. Englad is generally expensive - however, you can find a bunch of room mate situations. Look for local papers or you can google that too. You can exchange dollars for any currency in europe. The first few weeks will be hard, but once to get to know, you'll be OK. You can sleep at the airport or the train stations etc...rest rooms are OK too. You can go to a barber shop for a shower if you need to. Take some over the counter medicine with you, you may need some. Good luck and have fun - london is fun.....

London is quite expensive and a bit daunting for a first time immigrant. Liverpool is fun but quite rough. Manchester is nearby (1 hour) and a good place to start life in the UK but there is no direct flight from Cincinnati. Otherwise can I suggest looking at York or Leeds which are university towns with strong music scenes and plenty of connections to London and Liverpool. You can also fly from Cincinnati to Newcastle and it is only 2 to 3 hours on the train to either.

ur in a lil bummy place like west union and movin to london omg i live in west union ohio to and i dont see how anyone coud get enough money like this to move in london! but i dunno ur question was to long =()

Stay in the US for a few years, get a college degree and some work experience, then London will be interested in you. Otherwise, you won't be able to get a VISA or a job. One other good way to come over and get a taste of London is on a college exhange scheme. If you try to go it alone with no qualifications, you'll be living on the streets for quite a while....
