Im organising a night out in london for the lads. where is the best area to go?

We are from blackpool and dont know anything about London. The night will be a Thursday as we are at an event in Shepperton during the day so we are basically looking for a great night out somewhere near here. We didnt know if we had to go into the centre for a good night out or wether there was other places around. We are on a budget so reccomendations of cheap bars, nightclubs, b+b's etc. would be much appreciated.
