A week in LONDON! Which hotel can you suggest me?
-
HI! I'm from Italy and I'll soon come to London for a week. I never stayed there, so I really don't know nothing about the zones of the CITY! I'm looking for a room in a quite cheap hotel , I found some near King's Cross but many of you told me that's not a good place to stay. I tryed near Victoria station ( I arrive/depart from Stansted airport ) but I found only lots of dirty bed&breakfast... Now I found these 2 hotels in bayswater, how is there? Are there restaurants, shops, pubs? how's the nightlife? and what about the bus/metro to go to the centre at night? which of these 2 do you suggest me? thank you! http://en.venere.com/hotels_london/bayswater/hotel_london_house.html?sd=12&sm=10&sy=2008&ed=14&em=10&ey=2008&rval=1&pval=2 http://en.venere.com/hotels_london/paddington/hotel_the_royal_norfolk.html?sd=12&sm=10&sy=2008&ed=14&em=10&ey=2008&rval=1&pval=2

Answer:
i would recommend the holiday inn in brent cross it is a really good hotel near shops like sports world next tk max. and a big shopping centre with loads of different stores which id really close it has shops like wh-smith, mc donalds, so if your staying here for a week it would be a great place since there a shops really close and bus station is really close. hoped that helped ( p.s if you dont want really like the holiday inn i recommend the second one on your list. but the holiday is much better)

We always stay at The Lancaster Hall Hotel, two minutes walk from Hyde Park, very quiet, near Paddingtom and Lancaster Gare tube stations. It used to be called the German YMCA and still gets support from the German Church. The standard rooms are good value, but the rooms in The Youth Wing are even better value. (You don't have to be a youth either!) Fantastic German plumbing and buffet breakfasts.

I just booked a room at the Club Quarters Hotel (they have three or four great locations in London) and found them to be very well priced. The one I'm staying at is Club Quarters Trafalgar Square. Check it out.

Try www.eurohotel.co.uk, it's near Russell Square, cheap but clean. Paddington is a rough area don't go there

i came back from london today and we stayed in the premier inn county hall its right next to the london eye and is about a 20 min wlk to covent garden and other shops which was great there are also taxis outside the hotel and they can also get a taxi for you for a fixed price if you prefered dont know wat the night life was like but it is opposite a few restaurants and i did see some people out there county hall is a great building it has a movieum (movie museum) which we went to and you can also visit the aquarium and i think madame tussauds isnt toon far also buckingham palace is quite near.. well just acroos westminster bridge the nearest tube station is waterloo but we got the train to london bridge and was about a 10 min ride in taxi we loved it there and planning to do a proper weekend break there next year sometime which im really looking forward to hope you enjoy your stay in london its great also the hotel has a bar and a restaurant you can get a full english breakfast every morning, you will probably be out for lunch but you can get sandwiches and snacks from the bar and they also offer a a evening meal which was really nice but as i say there are restaurants really close by which you could walk too if you'd prefer enjoy london :)

Bayswater better than Paddington. Easy to come back at night with buses. Any how you always have to take public transport as apart from hyde Park and Notting Hill you have nothing else around in terms of Tourist Point of Interest. Another good area much closer to the center is Russel Square...nothing amazing in terms of hotels, but you are walking distance from many sites including the British Museum http://www.hotelcomparator.co.uk/ Type in London and "Shows Hotel near" (British Museum) Otherwise you have the Travelodge, but you have to quick in booking it: http://www.hotelcomparator.co.uk/Travelodge (it is a chain and no surprise in terms of service and cleanlinesses. Very clean and very good service - Choose the one in Covent Garden) http://www.hotelcomparator.co.uk/Travelodge
