How much is the off peak rail ticket to London?

Can I use an off peak ticket travelling from London to Liverpool at peak time?

  • I am travelling from London to Liverpool Lime Street, on a Virgin Trains Service. I have an adult disabled railcard. Does this allow me to travel at peak times, even with an off peak ticket? I have been told this is true, but can't find anything to confirm it. Also - when you do the journey planner on virgin trains.co.uk (with a railcard) you can purchase off peak tickets for that journey. However, untab the railcard and you can't. Anyone?

    No, this is not true, an off peak ticket is only valid at off-peak times even with a Disabled Person railcard. However, what is true is that unlike most other railcards there are no time limits on a Disabled Person's railcard so you can use it to purchase Peak time tickets and you will get the normal 34% discount.

Unless they have changed their rules recently Virgin will allow tickets bought with a DISABLED RAILCARD to be used during peak hours.However, It would be wise to telephone them and check 08719 774 222
