DEF DEF camden and the sables markets the other side of the canal Go down to camden during the day and hang around the markets especailly the stabls one and you get lots of people who ill give you good answers. (go early slow q) The toilet is the size of a small club... camden town on the northern underground line is a great place for live music in pubs. it's not unknown for quite well-known artistes like pete doherty and amy winehouse to make an appearance. there are also loads of places in camden market that sell cds and dvds, including rarities in all genres. altogether, camden's the place for a thriving music scene - nowhere else in london comes close. hope this is useful ... can't help on the accommodation front, though.

buskers in the tube stations are good to hear

You could go to Berwick Street (SOho) off Oxford Street, has shops that sell old records at good prices... sort of hard to get hold of. There are a lot of shows and musicals in West End (picadilly and Leicester Square)
