How much does a London Oyster Card cost?

  • I mean the price for just the card itself with no travel funds loaded on it.

    They'll try and charge you a £3 deposit for 'registering' your card. What they wont' tell you is that you don't actually need to register it if you don't want to. The only reason you should register it is if you're likely to put large-ish amounts of money on it incase it gets lost. I put £10 a week on mine and don't have it registered, as I don't like the idea of this big brother nation where they know what we're doing and where we're going!

it's a 3 pounds deposit, which also means you can go into debit on the card to this amount, but TFL are doing a marketing campaign at the moment where you can get the card for nothing
