How safe is Islington?

Is Islington, London safe?

  • on saturday night im going to a gig in islington academy, i live like an hour from london so im travelling up on the train, ive been to gigs is camden, brixton etc, i was told brixton was bad but we got home fine as it was crowded after the gig, but ive been told that islington is really rough? ill probably be leaving the concert about 10.30 - 11pm so how far is the station from the venue and whats the street like? two of us are going, im 16, my mate is 19, we dont tend to take **** from anyone anyway but i dont wanna be getting stabbed my chavs on my way home lol thanks guys

    lol i didnt know chavs like stabbing, but brixton is more dangerous than islington and i live in islington all my life and dont really have any problems, is that academy near the angel, if so then im sure you'll be safe, alot of people are around during the nights getting drunk and stuff, plus theres a police station right near chapel market(which is also like 1 min away from the station)

Islington Academy is in Angel which is one of the better parts of Islington, the worst that will happen is you bump into one of the hipster media types that hang around there & scuff their shoe The tube station is literally right across the road from the Academy
