London Mommies: how much does a daycare cost you?

• I have a 7 months old, Im thinking of going back to work once he reachs his birhtday. Can you tell me how much a daycare will cost me for a whole day (9am-5 pm Mon to Fri). I am going to live in Earl's Court area.... Also, I found someone who can babysit my son for once in a while. She's asking GBP 8/hour, is this the normal rate? thank you

  That's a very good rate. You might pay less if you got a teen to sit, but an experienced sitter would usually charge at least that. Day care varies, but in that part of London, I wouldn't be surprised if you payed in excess of a hundred and twenty pounds a day. Btw, we are Mummies here, not Mommies. :)
