Recommendations for hotels/hostels in London?

London in 1 day any recommendations?

  • hello :) i'll arrive this friday to London and stay just one day what would be your recommendations to visit in just one day, are there any ttouristicbuses that can give me a general view from the city? my hotel is near Russel Square what's the best option taking the train or the subway?and in the 2 cases what's the price of each one from the Heathrow airport? also last question what's the weather like this days in London, thank you very much for your help.

  • Answer:

Weather variable - typical December - wet windy but not usually too cold (though last year we had lots of snow). Take a city tour - the hotel should have leaflets. Usually you can get 24-hour hop-on hop-off tickets. From Heathrow, take the tube (a subway in the UK usually means a pedestrian underpass below a busy road). Heathrow is the end of the Picadilly line of the tube (dark blue on the underground map). This goes directly to Russell Square tube station. It is also cheaper than the train/bus link to the airport. See www.tfl.gov.uk for London transport options and fares. London is zoned for fares. Enjoy yourself - it's a great place.

Oxford circus shopping Tower of London. Cross the bridge where the London eye/Parliament is. Take the train or the tube.(which is what we call the subway. Over ground is what we call trains) Weather is pretty chilly. Winter coat/scarf will be needed.
