A good and cheap hotel in London?
-
Hey people! I'm from Germany (so if you like you can answer in German^^) and I'm going to travel to London in June for 6 days with my boyfriend. We don't have much money, but we're looking still for an hotel room... Maybe you know a good hotel, which meet these demands: - double bedroom (ONE bed) with own bathroom (en suit) - CLEAN! - incl. breakfast (continental) - situated in tube zone 1 or 2 - no more than 75 GBP (or €) per night and room, but as cheap as possible ;) Hope someone knows a good hotel, which keeps at least these conditions! If it is better, it would be great! Thanks for your answers and help! Nice greets from Berlin :)

Answer:
Before booking any hotel in London, make sure you check the reviews on www.tripadivisor.com to see what people who have stayed there have said about the rooms as some are good and some are not so good. You might want to try a local guest house which might be cheaper and you can always travel into the centre every day if you have an Oyster card. Try www.smoothhound.co.uk for guest houses. For hotels I would recommend a chain hotel such as novotel, Holiday Inn Express or Travelodge. Prices do vary on how central and how far in advance you book. Some other hotel websites to try are www.lateroooms.com, www.opodo.co.uk, www.expedia.co.uk, www.hotels.com, www.lastminute.co.uk I have also stayed at the Strand Palace Hotel which is very central in Covent Garden which was a little over your budget at £80 a night, but deals can be found and it would be nice to be really central for at least one night so you can go clubbing or see a show without worrying about getting tube / taxi / night bus home.

Have a look at GTA hotels. They have quite a few decent hotels on their books. I wouldn't advise anything under £50 though, it's likely to be a bit too basic! You can view the hotels on a map, so you can see where they are located within zone 1 or zone 2
