Can you tell me about moving to London?

I'm moving to London,can you tell me anything?

  • Yeah I live in the U.S. but after I graduate high school which is going to be in 4 years..I was wondering do you need to take test in the U.K as you do in America??? I want to move to London after I become a vet. Um also what kind of rulers does the U.K have?What about money,jobs,houses,animals,environment does London seem like?

    I have lived in London and the U.S (Detroit) so i would definitely say London is more expensive but really good, it has character. Crime can be an issue in London but I live in Canary Wharf, and there certainly isn't a problem there. Besides every city has some crime. Britain, especially London is very up to date with fashions and ahead of America in some cases. You will be overwhelmed by London because it does appear very posh and expensive but I fell in love with it. Houses tend to be terraced houses, (but expensive!) you would be best off buying a flat (apartment). Wages are almost double to that in America I think. British immigration are picky on who they like to accept into the country so you may need sponsorship (from a british citizen). Oh and because London is so busy it is quite polluted. Unfortunately British people are more reserved. It can be harder to start conversation with British people but they can be just as friendly as Americans. Some may find being loud and chatty extremely rude. London costs a sh8tload of money. Be prepred to be skint unless you're rich! It is the most expensive place in the world after Moscow. It's one of those places which are great to visit but living there is pretty different experience. Parts of London are nice, but the more affordable/cheap places are in not-so nice rough areas, which in some cases are filled with guns, gangs, drugs, prostitution, etc. It is very hard to find an area that is completely free of crime in London because poorer rough areas are near nice areas. This is part of the beauty because the poor people aren't kicked to a side of the city and people can integrate more and it's more diverse unlike e.g. Paris. Have you thought about other places in Britain that are cheaper, e.g. Leeds, Nottingham, Manchester, Birmingham? London is just one small part of Britain. These places are more friendly as well. London due to the size is a bit unfriendly and the people are rude. Also Londoners love to moan about transport! Whether it's the buses, underground or trains they love to have a good whinge! It's only when they get out of London they realise how great the city is! Enjoy one of the greatest cities in the world!

London is very nice. beautiful actually. the people are nice but you should get used to their humour and sarcasm. americans could find it offensive. the U.K. is expensive..... England has kings and queens. averyone knows that... have fun! one thing... never be a teacher in england!

london is cool, u dont have to do tests or comply with our culture, we love other peoples culture, so u dont have to change, stick to ur rules, n slowly u will get us. london it very very very expensive. everything here will cost double that what it cost in USA, if not more! its very cold here in london, but thats part of our identidy, summer nights is great here, but we r all about the winter nights, it can be amazing, n cosy. different parts of london are completely different from each other, so the society is very mixed. houses are very expensive in london, probably the highest priced on average in the world. everyone can get a job here, so thats no problem. i hope iv helpped! enjoy london, u will really love this magnificent city.
