Can you live in London without a Car?

I really want to live in London?

  • I live in America right now and as long as i can remember i was never a fan of it. I was raised in the Netherlands(yay nederland!) and i miss the feel of Europe. I really dont know how to explain my love for Holland and England. I'm 16 right now, and i was planning on studying abroad in London when i enter university, but i'm studying abroad in Egypt(I'm egyptian). Anyways, i've been to London countless amounts of times and i was literally being dragged out of there lol. I just love it! The narrow streets, the accent, the tiny cars, YOU CAN WALK EVERYWHERE. Sheesh in america without a car you're screwed! So basically, would moving to UK be a good choice or a bad one?? How's north london? is it a good place?? I have family in the UK so yeh=D I'm also thinking of Holland cuz that's truly my home hehe Anyways, stay in america or leave?

  • Answer:

I say leave! I know how u feel!! I was like that and still am! at least u have family and u have been there before, take the opportunity to go someday, and when u are looking for universities, go for it! I support u 100%, I love England! the landscapes, the weather, the people, the cities, and ur sooo right about the car thing here in USA!!! hahaha! I live here too! and I need a car in order to drive to my school which is about 2 1/2 hours away from my house!!! (yup!!) man! I wish I myself can go over there and stay at least a summer at my family over there. (If they were over there, like you) u should so go, the quality of education is great and u will be exposed to many nice things. Holland is the name, what ever u pipck is great, but for sure stay in Europe! awsome and very helpful! and as for studing in Egypt its a nice country too and its good for u since thats ur heritage, Egyptain, but I say go over there and experince again what u ahve been through before, that feeling, that lost piece that u have been missing and regain it by traveling and staying over there, GO FOR IT! :) If i had the opportunity I would so GO! :) Good Luck! and I hope I helped! :)

I say follow your heart and go. It is a great experience and if you don't like it you can always move back or go elsewhere. You are young and have plenty of time to gain lots of travel mileage under your belt. I am American and lived in London for 3 years. I moved back to the US last year and not feeling it anymore. My mindset has completely changed for the good. And considering returning myself. The weather in London does suck at times, but it can also be great at others. As for North London, I lived there: Crouch End 1st then later North Finchley and Stoke Newington (the yuppie part). Good area. Very diverse, some parts urban with cafes, bakeries, restuarants, fruit/veggie stands and easy access to the tube and bus.
