What are good tips for cheap traveling in london?

Any advise and safety tips for traveling to London in May 2007?

    just basic common sense really. don't walk around with your bag open. don't count money in the street. if you have nice jewlery and watches don't flash them on the tube. don't ever use an unlisenced mini cab. they are not the safest if you're on your own. use one from a cab company or a black cab. but don't get in one if someone outside a club offers it.

London is actually a pretty safe city...the biggest threat to you, in my opinion, will be pick-pocketers. Bring a one-shoulder bag with you (instead of a backback) and keep your hand over it when walking through crowded places (like the tube, tourist attractions, etc.)...otherwise, just always stay alert and be aware of your surroundings and you should be fine. Have a good trip! :)
