Does Royal Mail work on 1 Jan?

I'm waiting for a parcel sent via royal mail recorded delivery. Normally it is supposed to arrive next Monday or Tuesday. But since it will be 1 Jan, does anyone know whether Royal Mail will still work on that day?

No - We are closed on that day and your item will be delivered on the next business day Tuesday - i believe most UK businesses will be shut on that day and it will be back to BAU (Business as Usual) on Tuesday

They have all on working on normal days let alone Bank hols.I have been waiting for a parcel which was posted from the USA on 4th Dec and actually arrived in Uk on 8th Dec but has never been seen since. Their dumb cousins at Parcelfarce seem to have "lost " it.

There will be no mail deliveries on 1 January 2007. Sorry, you`ll have to wait another day.

They might work on Saturday, but Sunday & Monday there will be no deliveries. The next post will be on Tuesday 2nd January.
