If the weather is particularly bad then a good fall back is the Science museum. It always has interactive things to do and because it is a national museum it is completely free to go in. Great for youngsters it is geared to be learning with play. Harrods do not like parties going in but if you are with just one other person, it is an interesting shop. Look out for the Wallis Collection, not too far away which is also free entry. The entry fees for a lot of places can cost a fortune. The tower is worth seeing with the crown jewels. Madame Tussards too. The London Eye if you have a head for heights. A trip round on an open top bus or a ride on the Thames in a boat are all good things to do on such a short trip. take one of the river cruises to say Greenwich, and you will get good view of London from river, and if lucky a good and often funny guide to all the history of the place. Then perhaps try Covent Garden, its a bit touristy but you often get musicians there and jugglers and such like. London Eye, panoramic views of the city and way beyond on a clear day. There is so much to do will be a whirlwind

right across from buckingham palace is St james park- my favorite amongst the many Parks in London Very near to Big Ben and the houses of Parliment is Westminster Abbey and the London Eye is just across the Westminister Bridge the Tower of London and the Tower Bridge And my favorite place of all in London Trafalgar Square- great to people watch and get a sense of London ( and the National Gallery is there too)
