How to study abroad in England?

Study abroad in England or America?

  • I'm going to study abroad but I JUST CANT DECIDE!? I really really really want to go to England, cuz I love everything England; the people, the weather (yup, i'm serious), the green-ness, the busses, the old feel, the shopping, etc. But I really wanna experience the American teen life too :S is it really like it is in the movies? many people say it is, but seriously how can it be? I'm from Denmark, so I guess England isn't THAT much different from where I come from, is it? What are some good things about going to England, and some good things about going to America??(:

  • Answer:

It depends what you want to study. If you are studying something such as buisness, economics then u can study it in england on a 3 year course. This will include a years study in america . . . so join an english uni and u could get 1st year, england, 2nd year America, 3rd year England. Look at uni's such as Anglia Ruskin (cambridge) Northampton Nottingham you might find something on there!

It depends on what you looking for in your study abroad experience. Many danes love going to both England and the U.S. so I guess it depends on what kind of experiences you are looking for. Also, I find it funny that many danes really think that American teen and college life is exactly how it is in the movies....Its not. Sorry :( You have the basic components that are true however the movies blow them WAAAY up into something that is not realistic. I mean yes there are social groups in American high schools but it really depends on WHERE in the U.S. you go and study. College life is a lot of partying, drinking, and sexual relations, but its not as glamorous as it appears in the movies. If you are still in high school then perhaps the U.S. is fun to experience. Prom, high school life, dances, american football games, its nice and different from England I think. If you are college age/bound, then it depends. In the U.S. things are cheaper than in England however you won't be able to go bars and/or clubs until you are 21. If you have a couple tusinde kroner you buy a cheap used car which seems to be something that a lot of young exchange students love to do. Hope this information helps some. Enjoy your time in England or in the U.S.! Also, I recommend if you go to the u.S. go to either the west coast or east coast. Its not sooo interesting in the midwest (minnesota, wisconsin, Iowa). You might feel more at home though with the land being soooo flat lol.

America. DO NOT study in England. Come for a visit, you'll love it but living and studying here is a completely different thing. Please go to America, I very much strongly recommend it.
