Are hostels in London safe?

Cheap Hostels in London?

  • I need to stay in a hostel in London for some weeks and I really need to make it cheap, about £7 would be okay, but all the websites have the Recommended hostels, which are way more expensive, so I just wanted to know some hostels or motels in London which are about that price, and I don't really care how shitty they are.

  • Answer:

We stayed at this place: http://www.travelstay.com/pages/PeckhamLodge.htm It's going through reconstruction (or at least was in September, we're going there in another week so we'll find out), but it's okay. Cheap, with okay breakfast, 20 minutes by bus to the center, the rooms are basic and the staff is kinda confused and their English is a bit funny (I'm a non native speaker, so I had to get used to their accent), but it feels safe and clean. Have you tried "The Green Man"? http://www.travelaholics.com/hostels/united-kingdom/england/greater-london/london/city-of-westminster/lisson-grove/the-green-man-bestplace-inn/a19791/ They're in zone 1. However it's a hostel with a bar so I don't know if you're ok about it.

When are you staying? This hostel has a good location is £9- £11, I think that's as cheap as you will get in London. It's a very expensive city after all. If you wanted to make it cheaper you would need to look outside London. http://www.ukhostels.com/rates_eng.html
