How long is the flight from London to Bora-Bora?

Need help planning flight to London!?

  • In the summer of 2013 my family and I will be flying to Europe. Our first destination will be London and I was wondering what time of day we should fly out. We live in the central standard time zone and we are about 6 hours behind London. The flight time to London would be about 9 hours. We would want to sleep on the flight over and wake up in the morning in London. What time should we leave to make this possible? Also if you have a good airline recomendation that would help a lot! We would also like any information for hotels in London, Paris, Monico, Venice, and Rome. Thanks for your help!

http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotels-g186338-London_England-Hotels.html Enormous range of hotels in London with enormous price range too . I use this site and have found good quality hotels using it and at fair prices too. You can use it for other cities too. In London you can stay in almost any location because transport links are excellent , by bus or by undergound train system ( Londoners call it the Tube )

If you're flying non-stop (the only way to go in my opinion unless you're getting a MASSIVE discount by changing planes somewhere) then the best time to leave your part of the States would be early evening. That way you sleep on the plane (even if perhaps badly) and arrive mid to late morning in the UK. Refreshed, of a sort, and ready to take on the day. Leave 7pm US time which equals 1am (the next day) London time + 9hr flight means you get in 10am ish. Give say 3hrs to clear customs and arrive at your hotel (assuming you're staying in centre ish of London) and you're ready for lunch. You say 'my family and I' so I'm assuming you've got kids with you. Give them an early ish night that night and hopefully jet lag won't bother them or you. I've never suffered with it. Just live your new time zone straight away. If it's 1pm and you arrive tired then DON'T go for a sleep. Force yourself to stay up and then have an early night. Likewise you arrive at 1am and are wide awake. Go to bed and get up early. Have used LOTS of airlines and they're all pretty much of a muchness. Virgin Airlines were good. Biman Bangladeshi Airlines not so good. Hotels in London, Paris, Monaco, Venice and Rome ? There are LOTS of 'em ;-) Have a good trip

If you live in the central time zone I would suggest leaving in the early morning to mid afternoon. Because you need to consider if you have any layovers (take that into consideration when booking flights). As for airline recommendation, I've flown on different ones and it's been alright the only time I didn't really care for the flight was if it was an older plane because you don't have your own tv and sometimes they are a little strict about electronic devices (like when I flew into Milan, Italy). I'm sure if you're flying to a more popular airport, like Heathrow, then you'll have a nice plane whichever airline you choose. If you are going over to London during the summer I would look into staying at the dorms in a college. I've done that before and it was a nice room with free breakfast. We would load up on food, have a small lunch, and then get a nice dinner. It was cheaper and we only went back at night to sleep. As for other locations in Europe sometimes I would stay with family, but other times I would just google hotels in the city you are looking to stay in. Just read the reviews and make sure there weren't any bedbugs or something weird and be sure you're not in a bad area. The closer you are to tourist locations the more money it will be. Sorry I can't remember exact hotels. Also don't worry about taking public transportation (the tube, trains, or buses) it's a nice fast way to get around. Have fun and if you have more questions just let me know.

first you should check Which airlines go to London from your location- not every airline operate at Every airport- And check to see if you can get a Non stop or if you need to change planes British Airways is my favorite and Non stop only for me- I have done the change planes thing- it would have to be Free for me to do that again- I was exhausted- spend a whole day traveling suggest you check out Trip Advisor for hotel reviews

Well, I would suggest to take overnight airfare. I am agree that you might not have lot of option on traveling time, either take flight at morning or late evening. For hotels option, the best places actually is to see recommendation from tripadvisor.com for those major cities. Above cities is well known and popular tourist destination and it would be not a daunting task to search hotels suit to your needs. Check this link : http://www.tripadvisor.com As you said you bring whole family with you, the best option in my head actually is to rent a short term apartment rental, this is more cost effective rather than hotels as you are bring some people with you. For Paris and Rome, you can use lodjee.com to search any apartment rental within areas http://www.lodjee.com

You don't hasve much choice about time. The majority of transatlantic flights are timed to travel across the Atlantic during the night and arrive in London in the morning. A few cities like New York and Washington have daytime flights that leave the U.S. in the morning (Local time) and arrive in London in the evening (Local time). Most airlines offer lousy service in economy class these days, particularly American owned carriers. British Airways is usually slightly better than the others If travelling from London to Paris I'd suggest taking the Eurostar train - 2 hours 20 minuyes journey city centre to city centre. London St Pancras to Paris Gare du Nord. www.eurostar.com France is 1 hour ahead of British time. Travelling to and from airports and long check in times make the train faster
