How does Narrow Street, East London look like?

How come the streets in big cities like London don`t have a single patch?

  • I browse in Google street view (London and other capitals) and no matter where I look the asphalt is like laid the day before - perfectly even, without a single patch or crack with all this heavy traffic? Here in my city is the opposite, even the patches have patches.

  • Answer:

London does not have the extremes of weather .It never gets to cold and therefore no ice to break up the roadway. Also the roads are metaled, meaning a metal grid is laid before the asphalt is laid.
