When will German trains come to St Pancras International?

Which line/platform do I take to get to Liverpool St. from St. Pancras?

  • So, I'm very ignorant when it comes to the Underground, and I'm heading to Paris on Thursday via Eurostar. I do not know however how to get onto the train that departs from Liverpool Street to St. Pancras, which platform do I go to and how do I know which train I will need to get on? I have also got my train tickets travelling to Liverpool Street but I haven't got a ticket going from Liverpool St. to St. Pancras and one for when I come from St. Pancras to Liverpool St. to get home, how does this work, do I just walk onto the train I need without having to show a ticket?

  • Answer:

From Liverpool St, Get to the Eastbound Platform for the Metropolitan, Hammersmith & City and Circle Lines. Any of these trains will get you to St Pancras As for a ticket, just go upto a ticket machine and buy a single to St Pancras. (Like £4) Then put it in the ticket barrier. At St Pancras, it'll swallow your ticket and let you out. If you travel on the weekend, check ---> http://www.tfl.gov.uk/tfl/livetravelnews/realtime/tube/default.html as the section of the line you're gonna be travelling on might me closed.(No trains from Liverpool St to St Pancras next weekend) Allow double the time it takes to get to St Pancras as there might me delays (the tube isn't exactly the most reliable). Just a quick note, if there is a suspension on the line upto St Pancras use the following route. Get the Central Line Westbound to Bank, then a Northbound Northern Line Train upto St Pancras. Hopefully you won't have any suspensions when you travel, but just keep this in the back of your mind...... just in case....

Take the Circle Line or Hammersmith & City Line or Metropolitan Line from the Kings Cross/St. Pancras tube station--St. Pancras shares a tube station with Kings Cross--to Liverpool Street. Those lines will take you direct to Liverpool Street and it does not matter which line you take. As for the platform, that's not so important because there are signs that will tell you where to go. Follow the signs and you'll get to the right platform.

You an catch either a Metropolitan line train, a Circle line or a Hamersmith train - all from the same platforms at Liverpool street or Kings Cross and they will all take you to KINGS CROSS for St Pancras or Liverpool Street depending on which way your are going at the time. If you haven't got tickets you can buy them from the ticket office or from ticket machines.

You will arrive at Kings Cross underground station. St Pancras is the overground station beside Kings X so from the underground station you need to take the escalator up to ground level and walk to the overground station which is a few minutes walk. Follow the signs or ask advice from staff ; plenty of them around. At St Pancras Eurostar platforms are well signposted or again ask for advice. On your return go to the ticket office at Kings X underground and get a new ticket for that journey on the underground.
